"I didn't want to be responsible for stealing your innocence." "You can't steal something I willingly give." "I know that now, but more than anything, I wanted to shield you from me, from the industry, from worldly corruption. You're everything I'll never be, Megan." "But you're everything I want to be," she whispered. Scooting closer, she wrapped her fingers in his hair. "You're generous, kind hearted, loving, and honest. You're gentle yet aggressive, bold yet secretive. I didn't tell you how I felt about you because I didn't think I was your type." "You're too good for me." "And you for me." His heart cartwheeled. If this wasn't love, then it didn't exist.

Night Games by @ColletteWest

Title:  Night Games
Author: Collette West
Published:  February 28, 2014
Genre:
Sports Romance

Book Synopsis:
The moment Grey Kelleher locks eyes with All-Star shortstop Chase Whitfield, she's a goner. For years, she's watched him play on TV, and now she's gazing at his hard, lean body across a bar in her hometown.

Grey's crush on Chase goes all the way back to his rookie season. So when she approaches him for an autograph, she's startled by what a jerk he can be.

Chase is no mood to humor his fans, even one as alluring as Grey. He's in the last year of his contract and stuck having to prove himself on a minor league team. He's only there to rehab an injury, nothing more.

But when Grey tells him off, Chase realizes her fiery spirit may be just the distraction he needs to take his mind off not being in the majors. His heart is safe. No one's going to break his streak as baseball's most eligible bachelor. Not even someone as irresistible as Grey.

Book Links:

From the first page i was intrigued in this novel. Grey is one of a kind. Theres a quote in Night Games where Grey explains she was named after Hurricane Grey and thats the best way to explain Grey's personality. Grey is an driven and die hard baseball fan, dealing with the stress of life around her Grey has the opportunity to meet her favorite player Chase.
Night Games deals with divorce, stalkers, strip clubs, death, heartbreak and strength! You not only fall for Grey but you root for her, cry with her and hurt with her. I love the transition from one POV to another. Night Games is written from both Grey and Chase's point of view helping you understand what each of them are dealing with.
As a huge sports fan i can only dream of this opportunity lol, i would be like Grey sister E! All the characters in this novel are well developed and written. The story is well rounded with great basic for a relationship and enough history and story to make it feel 100% realistic.

I give Night Games by Collette West

Author Bio:
Collette West grew up as of a jock-nerd hybrid. Entering the world three weeks premature, her dad nearly missed her birth because he had seats behind the dugout for a sold-out, highly-anticipated match-up between two of baseball's biggest rivals. Not to be outdone, her book-loving mom taught her how to read by the time she was three. A love of the game coupled with an appreciation for the written word were instilled in Collette's impressionable brain from a young age. No wonder her characters believe in the philosophy: sports + romance = a little slice of heaven.

Splitting her time between the Pocono Mountains and Manhattan, Collette indulges her inner fangirl by going to as many games as she can from hockey to baseball and downloading every sports romance novel in existence onto her iPad. When she's not clicking away on her laptop, she enjoys walking her dog in Central Park, satisfying her caffeine craving at the Starbucks on Broadway and keeping an eye out for Mr. Right. But above all, she loves dishing with her readers. Email her at collette_west@yahoo.com.

Perfectly Broken by @prescottlane1

Perfectly Broken by Prescott Lane
Publication Date: March 2014

Even after years of trauma therapy, Peyton still believes she’s broken.  She has little desire to date or show off her natural beauty, content simply to hang out with her best friends and run her pie shop in New Orleans.  But her world turns upside-down when a handsome architect and self-confessed player shows up in her shop and thinks she’s perfect, much more than the usual hook-up.  While Peyton does her best to resist his charms, believing she could never be enough for him, she can’t deny the obvious heat between them.

With Reed determined to have her, Peyton must decide whether to continue to hide behind her apron and baggy clothes or take a chance and share her scars with Reed, a man with a playboy reputation and scars of his own — a dark past he can’t possibly share with Peyton, not after learning the horrors she’s endured.  But if they can find a way to trust each other, and themselves, they just might be able to heal, to save each other, to live perfectly broken together.
********************************
Dr. Lorraine closed the chart again.  “Listen up!” she barked, startling her young patient.  “I know the game you play.  Reed doesn’t, so he left not realizing this is what you do.  Someone gets close to you, or you open up a little bit, and then you get scared, hide, look for a reason to push them away.”  Peyton’s eyes began to tear, and Dr. Lorraine handed her another tissue.  “The scared girl laying on the dirty ground helpless after losing her innocence.”

“Sometimes it’s better to push people away, so you don’t hurt them,” Peyton said, “and they don’t hurt you.”

“Bullshit!”

Peyton shook her head.  “I’m never going to be whole again.”

“That’s bullshit, too.  I won’t have talk like that, Miss Peyton.  I just won’t have it.”  Dr. Lorraine cocked her head to the side.  “It’s time for a change in direction -- a serious change of direction.  This is what we are going to do.  You made a lot of progress with Reed – lots of good oral and other stuff.  But now you’ve cut him off, and I see you backsliding.  I don’t like to see it.  I won’t allow it.”  She stroked her chin then cracked her knuckles in preparation for some great declaration.  “I’m prescribing a little retail therapy.”

“What?” Peyton cried.

“Yes, that’s what I’m prescribing.  You get that friend of yours, Quinn, and hit the shops – Canal Place, Magazine Street, St. Charles Avenue, wherever,” Dr. Lorraine ordered, her whole body bouncing.  “I don’t want to see you in those sad, baggy ass clothes anymore.  Just looking at them, they mess with my head, and they screw up my whole day.  You ever think about how they make me feel?”

“No,” Peyton said with a laugh.

“Makes me sad.  I hate them.  So I want new shoes, clothes, athletic wear, undergarments!  Everything new.  Got it?”

“How is this therapy?”

“Honey, you’re hiding again.  You’ve flipped your sex switch back to off, and I’m not about to let it hibernate in some frozen tundra again for years.  We’ve worked too damn hard.  You need to get in touch with your sexuality without a man helping you do it.  You have to do it.  And clothes are the perfect place to start.”

Peyton shrugged.  “I don’t feel like it.”

“You don’t feel like it?  Tough shit!  I didn’t feel like getting my pap smear last week, but I did.”

Peyton smiled.  “It just seems like a waste of time and money.”

“Well, if you don’t want to do it through clothes, I can prescribe something else.  Maybe a pole dancing class?”

“I don’t think so.”

“Or daily masturbation?”

Peyton rolled her eyes.  “Fine, I’ll get the clothes.”

“Good,” Dr. Lorraine said, writing in Peyton’s chart, as if filling out a prescription to take to the drugstore.  “Among other things, I want you to get some power panties.”

“Power panties?”  Has she been talking to Bret?

“Sexy underwear,” Dr. Lorraine said, still writing.  “They can make a woman feel very powerful.”  She put down her pen and looked at Peyton.  “When a man wants to be taken seriously, he usually wears a red tie.  Ever notice that in presidential debates?  Lots of red ties.  Red is the color of power.”  Dr. Lorraine waved her hand and snapped her fingers.  “So get yourself some red panties, girl!  Take back your power!  Do it for yourself!”  She handed Peyton her prescription.

“I didn’t realize my power was in my underwear.”

The attraction is undeniable. The temptation is irresistible. And soon they’re sharing more than just an address. But with another life lost in a deliberately set blaze, Sara’s trust is faltering. Has she lost her heart to a serial arsonist? He’s already shown her the allure of playing with fire.

Debut author with something kick a$$ to say! I was consumed with this book from the prologue. Breaking outside of the norm in the first few words you meet a mother and a widow packing up memories and embarking on a new journey of her life.
Than you just need to keep buckle up and get ready for the ride of A Reason to Breathe!
Action, hotness, fear and sarcasm, what more is there to want.
As an avid reader very few books in my opinion follow a guideline linked with reality or covers all demographics. I like that Jenn is older and a person who continues to get up as life hands her some rotten luck. Chapter One the story goes from oh okay cool to ummm what, a killer with an obsession throws unpredictable situations into the mix. Weird obsessed killed and hot white knight whats not to love.
Great first book and awesome read. I love a story that i become so obsessed with i don't want to put down. I will easily have this in my re-read pile to keep embracing the characters and enter their world.
I recommend you pick up this book and get easy to continue to have great things come from CP Smith!

Heal My Heart @Elleywrites

Title: Heal My Heart (Kemmons Brothers #3)
Author: Elley Arden
Published:  March 10, 2014
Published by
:  Crimson Romance
Genre:
Contemporary

Book Synopsis:
Female professional football quarterback M.J. Rooney has her eye on the prize, a record-breaking, championship season-even if her parents are less-than supportive of her non-traditional, gender-bending career. Sure, it would be nice to have support from the people she loves, but she believes in herself, and she has her teammates. That’s all she needs to win a championship…until a scuffle at a baseball game sends her over the railing onto the field. The ensuing concussion threatens her season.

Dr. Tag Howard has something to prove-he’s worth way more than his biological father, Francis Kemmons, led him to believe. Maybe Tag wasn’t as talented as his brothers when it came to playing baseball, but that doesn’t mean he can’t contribute to the game. He’s poised to become Major League Baseball’s go-to sports medicine doctor if he can handle one thing: rehabilitating the Gold Glove Centerfielder who just so happens to be his estranged brother, Grey. It’s more than Tag can take…until an unorthodox angel crashes into his life with a concussion and a fresh perspective.

M.J. doesn’t need a man. She needs a championship ring. Getting messed up with a sexy doctor and his world of perfect image isn’t going to get her there. Tag doesn’t need to be led astray from his calculated path of achievements, and he doesn’t need reminders from his gritty, depressing past. Hanging out with a brazen woman who thinks the world is no holds barred could strip him of everything. But the attraction is undeniable, and there’s surprising freedom from expectations in each other’s arms…until the outside world presses in.

With Tag’s brothers pushing for a reunion that requires him to own up to his ugly past, and M.J.’s biggest season on the line amidst too many distractions, maybe life apart would be easier.

Part three in the Kemmons Brothers saga deals with Tag Howard and Mary Jane Rooney. Both dealing with childhood feelings of unworthiness and regret they battle their past to work on their future.
Heal My Heart is a great breakdown of the scars that can be left from a persons youth. Tag is an well sought after doctor with an impressive resume and loving parents. MJ is one of the best female professional quart backs with an impressive arm, but her judge father and ballerina step mother don't see or appreciate the person MJ is. Together they work on accepting who they are, flaws and all.

I enjoyed Heal My Heart, the back store was well written and developed. Tag and MJ had an instant chemistry that allowed their relationship to develop well and realistically.

“Do you have Grey Goose?” She laughed. “We have vodka, and occasionally it’s a little gray, but I don’t think it has anything to do with geese.” “Okay, then I’ll take a gray vodka tonic without the goose, and a lime, please.”

Though they both deal with tough psychological issues they managed to bring a funny sense of humor to the table. The story is realistic, touching and inspiring. To often are others thoughts in our heads tainted your confidence.

“I can’t seem to forget him,” he whispered. “Twenty-five years, and he’s stuck in my head.”

Heal My Heart was a great mix of strength, comedy, romance, real life situation and heart healing love.
