Im not lying when i say she had me at the Prologue. Emmie Hayes is my sister, my friend and in some cases myself. Its a view on the inside of a torn sole. With physical and mental abuse it starts slowly and when you find the strength to leave, its only the beginning of the healing of those scars.

As Emmie finds her way to New York, art school and a new journey. Small town girl meeting the big city is almost always an eye opener, the grind, sarcasm and thick skin of New York is nothing compared to Colin Bennett.

Emmie has no choice but to face her demons, the question can Colin make it through this journey?

I loved this book, sucked in from the first word, and excited for part two in this series.

Wendy Owens was raised in the small college town of Oxford, Ohio. After attending Miami University, Wendy went on to a career in the visual arts. After several years of creating and selling her own artwork, she gave her first love, writing, a try.
