When i first started readying Daddy Morebucks by Normandie Alleman i didn't know exactly what to expect, a few words in i worried it would be a fifty shades shadow, but oh was i wrong. The story is different from anything ive read thus far and makes a path all on its own.
Marley can't catch a break, from a shitty youth to heartbreak along the way she its an all time low after her brothers world gets rocked.
As we all know, hitting a long and having no support to pick you up can be a fast way to nothing good. With no support or good experience at home Marley begins hustling to survive which one lucky day brings her to Daddy James.
Maybe its the South Florida thing but every time Marly calls James Daddy i saw her saying Papi which didn't make it weird for me. I love that this will be a series, as book one you can see plots forming for each person. I dont love that this finishes on a sort of cliff hanger, but it makes you want more on James and Marley story.
You see Marley grow in the support of James, something most people do with the encouragement of parents, sibling or friends Marley does through James financial and emotional support.
Now dont get me wrong, the book is hot hot hotttttt, some scenes i had to take a break or i would spontaneously combust.
Overall great read, the characters are developed well, the relationships are realistic as are the situations. A bit of a slow start but once the books starts rolling ohhh does it roll so wonderfully...I cant wait to continue the Daddys Girls Club series!

They ate their meal
in silence, the only noises being the clinks of silverware on plates and
glasses tinkling as they drank and enjoyed the tasty meal.
“Do you care for any
wine?” he asked.
Remembering what
Milton had said about him not liking his girls to drink alcohol, she shook her
head no.
“No, Sir,” he
corrected her.
She finished her bite
and dutifully answered, “No, Sir. Thank you for offering, Sir.” She could play
that game with her eyes closed.
“Well, I’m going to
have a glass of merlot, though I do like to keep my head about me during a
scene. You should too.”
“I’m fine, though I
did have some drinks earlier.”
“You did?”
“Yeah, but don’t
worry. Milton told me you don’t like your girls drunk, and this food sopped up
all the alcohol in my system, so no worries, Sir.”
He sat quietly
sipping his wine and considering her.
“Would you like
dessert?”
“Sure! I mean, yes,
Sir.”
He looked surprised.
“Oh, well, then I’ll call down for something. Maybe we can have it later. What
would you like? Cake? Crème brûlée? I could see what the specials are…”
“Crème brûlée. I’ve
always wanted to try that.”
He used a phone in
the corner to order two crème brûlées before returning to his seat.
Marley finished her
potatoes and leaned back in her chair, her tummy contented. “Thank you, Sir.
That was delicious.”
Unable to read him,
Marley decided it was time to get this show on the road. The sooner he was
finished with her, the sooner she could get some sleep. Lack of sleep was
catching up with her. The different noises and random commotion that went on
throughout the night at the shelter kept her awake. If she was lucky she could
crash here and find a new place tomorrow.
Locking her eyes with
his, she slipped out of her chair onto the floor and crawled on her hands and
knees around to his side of the table. Setting her hands on his knee, she attempted
to push back his chair. But it didn’t go as smoothly as she had planned. The
chair didn’t budge.
